Today, working with influencers has become more important since holding lifestyle shoots becomes near impossible with orders to work from home and shelter in place. Influencers won’t just help you drive awareness and sales, but they’ll also become an important part of your creative process. Many influencers create their own content which can help you fuel other campaigns.
Why Should My Brand Work With Influencers? The list could go on for this question but here are a few key reasons you should consider:
- Reach + Trust: Influencers have the power to reach an audience that a brand might not be able to reach on their own, and they also have a following of people who are there because they trust that influencer and are likely to look into/purchase a product they are told about.

Who doesn’t love a good unboxing video? Making a kit for your influencer is a great way to get them excited about using the product and is also cool for their viewers to watch. You can fill the kit with any promotional items of your choice.
Choose the right influencer
Quality of followers > number of followers! When choosing an influencer for your brand, of course, a large following is good, but you want to make sure there is meaningful engagement happening between the influencer and their followers. Making sure your influencer’s content aligns with your brand’s voice and that they aren’t too overzealous with selling products.
Audience info you should know:
- Location
- Age range
- Gender

Choose with your goal in mind!
Get a signed agreement
Keep expectations clear! Like any business agreement, it’s good to have a clearly written copy of terms and conditions so both parties are on the same page about costs and content.
Even if your agreement with an influencer is strictly based off of trade, we’ve found that a written agreement helps ensure that your influencers will post according to the guidelines. It also helps establish legitimacy for your brand, which many of your influencers will appreciate.
Use your budget wisely
There is still some gray area when it comes to influencer marketing budgets so here are some estimates we’ve found helpful.
Optimize all platforms for sales
Don’t just throw it out there and hope for the best! When working with an influencer, you want to make your brand’s instructions as detailed as possible to make decisions easier for the consumer. Here are some tips to help:
- Offer an extra discount for followers
- Hone in on specific product and message
- Remove influencers that aren’t producing sales & give more attention to those who are
Know how to measure success
Check your progress to determine improvement!
Use influencer’s metrics rather than screenshots and don’t forget to check during these crucial times:
- 24 hours after the post goes up
- 3 days after the post goes up
- 1 week after the post goes up
- 1 month after the post goes up
Some other techniques are:
- Product exchange: this has also been a proven solution to increase sales while not having to reach too far into your budget. Gift your influencer your product in exchange for exposure on their page.
- Track links: if a link has a high click rate but no purchase it means the landing page was not good. However, if the link has a low click rate it means the influencer was not good.
